50 years later, mystery still surrounds JFK assassination

Dr. William Warrick, a veteran of the Vietnam War and a family doctor at Southeastern Integrated Medical group in Gainesville, will give a talk on Nov. 17 and Nov. 22, which is the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s assassination,  at 1 p.m. at the Gainesville Downtown Public Library, located at 401 E. University Ave.

Warrick will discuss an article published by The Gainesville Sun on Feb. 15, 1981, written by Larry Keen in which Paul K. O’Connor, who assisted in Kennedy’s autopsy, was interviewed.

Homeless veterans find new direction with choir

Veterans+choir

The choir is now on tour for the second year in a row in the U.S. and will perform in Gainesville Nov. 10, 2013. The group, which sings doo-wop, country, gospel, patriotic songs and pop music, will perform at 2 p.m. at the University Auditorium. The group also will make an appearance in Gator Growl 2013 on Nov. 8.
